We are SO CLOSE to the end of 2020 and I’m rushing to get all of my finishes from the year captured!  I actually did a lot of sewing during the year but for some reason just wasn’t in the mood for blogging.  I do want to make sure I capture all my finishes though, ...Read more

Well, you know I love Star Wars.  I’ve made a few Star Wars themed quilts in the past (Death Star, and Han and Leia), so I couldn’t resist when I saw this BB8 paper pieced pattern.  I found the pattern free at Fandom in Stitches (on Instagram at @FandominStitches) early on during the quarantine this ...Read more

We have a second home in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.  We bought our first place there in 2007 and enjoyed it thoroughly over the years.  It was small – half of a duplex – and there was no fence around the yard.  This made the yard look quite nice, but was pretty inconvenient for our pack ...Read more
  • Kaffe for Kim

My friend Kim LOVES her some Kaffe Fassett fabric. Last year we went to Missouri Star Quilt Company and every time we’d go in to the Florals Shop she’d enter, look around, sigh and say “Kaffe” (like an exhale). Most other times when she sees some Kaffe it is a more excited exclamation – “KAFFE!!” ...Read more

For the past few years I’ve done really well with setting goals for the year.  I’ve picked a word, made lists, looked back, and looked ahead.  For some reason this year I just really wasn’t into it.  I’m looking forward to this year, and have a lot of things I want to accomplish, but for …

Last year when I was getting out our Christmas decorations I had the great idea to do a table runner.  I have a bunch of quilty friends that make a lot of table runners, I knew I had a bunch of grunge I could use, and it seemed silly to be using my year-round runner …

I made a few extra blocks during our Bee Inspired group block-rounds in 2017.  I really loved the blocks we were making and I had some awesome modern batiks to work with.  This year I was looking for a special gift for a good friend so I decided to put them together and quilt them …

I have always loved Star Wars.  I can not wait for the new movie to come out this week – I’ve had tickets since the day they went on sale.  As such, this seemed like a great week to finish these little blocks. I found the patterns for free on Craftsy back before they changed …

I have a friend who recently bought a long arm and I find myself providing all sorts of unsolicited advice.  I’ve had my long arm for 3 years and I love it.  It really has been quite a learning curve, but I have used mine a lot and am really happy I took the plunge. …

I made a couple of chicken quilts earlier this year with my online bee group.  They all sent me blocks and I assembled them together in to quilts to be donated.  My friend, Peg, saw those quilts and offered to purchase one from me.  I didn’t feel like I could sell those to her as …

My 2020 #temperaturequilt top is all finished. Bas My 2020 #temperaturequilt top is all finished. Based on this, I can indeed confirm that 2020 was warmer than 2019. Also, I went 8 days in to January to finish out the last row, so now I’m feeling responsible for more of the 2020 bad seeping in to 2021.
All joking aside, our country has a lot of work to do.

Hopefully I’ll get this quilted soon.
