About Me

Hi! I’m Ann – welcome to my blog!

I have been quilting for nearly 30 years – doing piecing, applique, and FMQ on my domestic Bernina machine. I also enjoy dyeing fabric to use in my quilts. I bought an Avante Longarm in late 2016 and have been loving working on it and learning all sorts of new things.  In mid 2017 I felt confident enough with my longarm to start offering longarm services to clients.

I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico with my husband and 5 furry kids. My blog and business are named after my dog, Leo, and his awesome brown spotted paws.  Unfortunately we lost Leo in mid-2022, but his memory lives on in the Brown Paws name.

We still have 3 dogs and 2 cats in the family.  Bucky is Leo’s brother/litter mate, Maggie is our Pembroke Welsh Corgi who has her own Instagram and Facebook pages, and Tico is our youngest corgi boy.   Our cats are Seraphina (called Saffy) and Sophia – both about 17 years old now – and Saffy is a great helper with all things quilting.

I enjoy my blog for a few key reasons.  Firstly, it motivates me to spend more time quilting and being creative, and secondly it allows me to meet, learn from, and be inspired by the great people in the quilting community.

Please follow my blog and let me know what you are working on!
