Christmas Mini Quilt Gift

I made a few extra blocks during our Bee Inspired group block-rounds in 2017.  I really loved the blocks we were making and I had some awesome modern batiks to work with.  This year I was looking for a special gift for a good friend so I decided to put them together and quilt them up.

The mini quilt came out great:

I was able to experiment with a few things – the strip of orange in the binding as well as several aspects of the quilting.  The quilting is kind of hard to see in the photos, so here are some close ups:

You can really see the quilting better on the back:

I really didn’t love these feathers on the front, but I think they look pretty good on the back!

I gifted this mini quilt this week and I think she really liked it – she will give it a great home!

    1. Thanks! When we started the blocks I liked them all so much I started making duplicates of them all in this Me+You batik fabric, but at some point I ran out of energy. Or focus. I uncovered them recently and thought they’d be a great mini quilt. I’d like to see all the finished quilts from those blocks!
