Sunday Stash – Me + You Batiks and Bee Blocks

This week I was pulling out fabrics to make my Bee Block for by Bee Inspired International Bee group (we have a blog here).  Sue, our February Queen, asked for a monochromatic block, so I found myself pulling out my Me + You batiks.  I actually found I had bought 2 bundles of this stuff – I loved all the colors and the dots and just kept buying more of it.

I pulled out enough fabrics to make a few blocks, so I was considering making an extra few of the February blocks just for fun.  But rather than just make a few blocks I wouldn’t know what to do with, I had a better idea – why not make each of the monthly Bee Blocks out of my Me + You bundle?  I have a bunch of bundles I need to use, I’ve really like both of the Bee Blocks so far this year, and at the end of the year I’ll have a cool colorful stack of blocks.  I LOVE this idea!!

So along with my February Bee block, which I sent off to Sue in Australia (there is some Blueberry Park in here too):

I made another block for myself (I had to size it down from 12.5″ finished to 12″ finished, but that wasn’t too bad):

and went back and remade the January block out of the Me + You bundle:

Here they are together:

I think they look great together, and I can’t wait make the rest of them this year.

Finally a bundle that I have a plan for!
