It is time for the Fall 2016 Bloggers Quilt Festival, hosted by Amy (of Amy’s Creative Side)!
Yesterday I shared my entry into the Modern Quilt Category, and today I’m sharing my entry into the Small Quilt Category. This one I’m calling Square Berries. I designed these two blocks for the recent Cloud9 block design blog hop, and put my blocks together to make a small quilt. I originally posted about the blocks and the quilt here and here – you can get tutorials for making the blocks in these posts. Both are 12″ blocks, so this quilt is 24″x24″ (or 96″ around).
I enjoyed designing the blocks and doing the tutorials. I also had a good time doing the quilting. I have been practicing machine quilting these swirls, and I am really happy with how they turned out. I used Aurifil 4663 (Baby Blue Eyes – a variagated blue and white) on the front of the quilt and Aurifil 2311 (Muslin) on the back.
I hope you enjoy my entries – I enjoyed making them!
Thanks for entering this quilt. I love these colors together. It turned out so niice.
Thanks Janis! I’ve never entered this event before, so it was fun. The colors are cool, and I am really happy with how the quilt turned out. Thanks for stopping by!
Lovely to see this as an entry Ann – great finish!
Thanks Abigail! I felt kind of funny about doing another post about this so quickly after the hop last week, but I love the quilt so I figured why not. Thanks for stopping by!
I think it’s wonderful that you entered your quilt from the Cloud 9 Blog Hop in the Bloggers’s Festival. This is such a pretty quilt.
Thanks Stephanie! As I told Abigail I feel kind of weird about writing another post about it so soon after the hop, but I wanted to enter, so there you go. Thanks so much for the compliment, and for stopping by.
The blocks really make for a fun quilt and your swirls are gorgeous.
Thanks Leanne! I worked so hard on those darn swirls! I was drawing them out on paper pretty much all summer trying to get it down, and quilting little practice sandwiches. I finally just decided to give it a go on a quilt, and I’m so happy with how it turned out! Thanks for stopping by.
Pretty colors. I love how you quilted it. I am envious of those swirls. 🙂
Thanks Sally, really appreciate you stopping by. I am so proud of my swirls 🙂 I worked really hard to learn them and get it right. I think all the practice was worth it!!
Great choice for an entry into BQF. Love the quilting!
Beautiful quilt and the quilting is icing on the cake!
