Hartman Cats

It is no secret that I really love Elizabeth Hartman’s patterns and all her cute little critters.  I bought her cats pattern a few years back and thought it would be a really good stash buster quilt.  I had some white, some black, a nice background grey, and a ton of solids to work with.  I pulled the fabric and did all the cutting last summer, but finally just got around to piecing the blocks and putting together the top at the start of quarantine. Here is the finished quilt – complete with a few cats with glasses! I quilted it with my Prostitcher and a pantograph from UrbanElementz called Turbulence.  I love swirls! The back is a light grunge, which I really love.  The binding is a solid medium purple I had in my stash. (and that is the top of my husband’s head!  🙂 ) My cat Sarafina (Saffy) thinks it is a really awesome quilt!
Final Details:
  • Finished 62″x62″
  • Warm and Natural Batting
  • So Fine#50, color #501 (a light purple) on the top and the bobbin
  • 94,439 total quilting stitches.

  1. I love all the colorful kitties! Saffy seems to be pleased with her new friends. The glasses are too cute–one of my favorite whimsical elements in EH’s patterns! Beautiful finish!
